Project Overview

Urban Drones is a leading superstore specializing in fishing and underwater drones in the US. Despite their strong market position, sales were inconsistent and heavily reliant on existing customers. Urban Drones sought a solution to stabilize and scale its business, making it less dependent on repeat buyers and more attractive to new audiences. They entrusted Strike Digital with managing their Paid Social and Paid Search accounts.

Project Execution

Strike Digital began by restructuring Urban Drones’ advertising accounts. We improved the categorization of products within the ad accounts and refined the ad copy to better showcase the unique offerings of Urban Drones. By aligning ad creatives more closely with specific product types and categories, we ensured that each campaign was highly relevant and cohesive, which allowed us to gain better control over the performance of each product line.

We implemented a full-funnel advertising strategy across both Paid Social and Paid Search platforms, designed to engage potential customers at every stage of their buying journey. This included refining top-of-funnel campaigns to attract new audiences, as well as mid and bottom-funnel campaigns to convert these prospects into loyal customers.

Our focus on scaling the business and attracting a broader audience was central to our approach. We not only optimized existing campaigns but also explored new opportunities to reach untapped markets, ensuring that Urban Drones could grow beyond its reliance on returning customers.

Results

The results of our restructuring were both significant and swift. In the first three months of executing this strategy, we achieved remarkable growth with only a small increase in ad spend. With just 4% more spent on ads, Urban Drones saw a 19% rise in revenue across the platforms reaching $376K, and a 15% improvement in ROAS, bringing it up to 14.20.

The strategy’s success is further evident in their Shopify data, where online sales increased by 65%, translating to a +$194K increase, primarily due to our focus on attracting new audiences. This can be further seen in the revenue from first-time customers increased by 54%, while revenue from returning customers saw a modest 4% increase, highlighting the effectiveness of our approach in expanding Urban Drones' customer base.
